Present continuous

We use the present continuous to express:

  • actions that are happening at the moment we speak.
  • actions that are happening at present but not exactly at the moment we speak, and
  • actions that will happen in the near future.

We can use time expressions like: now, at the moment, today, this week, this month, this year, next week, next winter, always, constantly...

There are some verbs that are not normally used in this tense: feel, believe, think, forget, know, mean, like, hate, want, prefer...

Here and here you have more information and exercises to learn about the present continuous.
