Describing your house.

What does your house look like?

How many rooms does your house have?

Where do you live? In a flat, in a detached house ( a separate house), in a semi-detached house (when two houses share a party wall) or in a terraced or row house (when a row of identical houses share side walls)?

Do you live in a city or in a village?

Is your house in the center of the city (village) or in the outskirts?

Do you like your neighborhood?

What is there in your house?

Make a list with the furniture and appliances we can find normally in the rooms of a house according to the video above.
Let's read this composition about the description of a house to take notes about how to make a composition.

We use there is for singular and there are for plural:

  • There are many students in the classroom.

  • There is not (there isn't) a car in the parking.
  • There isn't any water in the fridge.
  • There are not (there aren't) two cars in the parking.
  • There aren't any cars in the parking.

  • Is there a book in the shelf? Yes, there is.
  • Is there any water in the fridge? No, there isn't.
  • Are there four pencils on the desk? Yes, there are.
  • Are there any pencils on the desk? No, there aren't.

Listen to the video and make a list with the rooms of the house and the actions we do in each one.
Now, try to do these exercises: this, this and this one.
