Simple Present and adverbs of frequency.

We use the Simple Present to express a repeated or usual action. The action can be a habit, a hobby, a daily event, a scheduled event or something that often happens. It can also be something a person often forgets or usually does not do.

Which adverbs of frequency can we use to express these actions?

• never
• hardly ever
• sometimes
• from time to time
• often
• usually
• always

An adverb of frequency goes before the main verb.

An adverb of frequency goes after the verb to be.

When we use an auxiliary verb, the adverb of frequency always goes between the auxiliary and the main verb.

We can use these adverbs, usually, normally, often, frequently, sometimes and occasionally, in the beginning of a sentence.

Present simple II.

We use the present simple:

• to express repeated or usual actions: He always plays tennis.
• to express facts o generalizations: I do not like chocolate. 
• to express scheduled events in the near future: The film starts at seven o'clock.

We can use these adverbs of frequency. They go before the main verb.
They go after the verb to be:

never, hardly ever, ussually, sometimes, often, always.

Expressions of frequency ussually go at the end of a sentence:

every day, twice a week, once a month, every year.
